Before I make toast, everytime I make it.
I take a bite out of the corner of the bread.
I realised just then, when I questioned my actions,
I do this because in grade five, this is how Mum taught me about tax. She'd take a bite out of my toast when he made it for me and say 'Taxed!' and we'd laugh.
I miss her.
